Block and Beam Installation

Here we have information and pictures on the process that we used to build a concrete block and beam floor for 12 new luxury apartments.
The block work is built on top of the foundations.

A mobile crane sets up to move the beams and other materials.

As the concrete beams arrive on a lorry, the crane lifts the concrete beams on to the block work.

The beams are placed on to damp proof course (DPC) and positioned on the block work.

Once the beams are placed, concrete blocks are placed between each beam.

Depending on the floor length and the load that the floor structure will support, two beams may be installed together as below.
